Minimize Gadgets on a Business Trip:
A. It is tempting to take all your latest electronic gadgets on every business trip. However, between the tight restrictions on the airlines today and the additional worry about losing a gadget, you may want to consider ways to minimize your gadget baggage.
B. Choose the one piece that will hold the most programs. If it's your laptop, then leave your day planner. If you have a phone with Internet capabilities, then you may not need your laptop.
C. Find out where wireless connections are available and leave all the connecting hardware at home. Learn to use wireless in the hotel or at a local coffee shop where you travel to.
D. Use a padded carry-on for your gadgets. Get one with lots of pockets inside and out so your gadgets will be within easy reach, and they won't have to be spread out between different bags. All your gadgets should be in one piece of luggage.
E. Learn how to use all the features on your cell phone. When we're not concerned about having too many gadgets, we may use a separate camera and music player. We carry books to read and digital books. Most phones today offer MP3 capabilities as well as camera options.
F. Carry a universal power adapter so you can be prepared for any kind of hookup for your mobile gadgets. You will want to charge your gadgets with power rather than carrying around a lot of extra batteries. Buying batteries on the road can get pretty expensive too.
G. Consolidate all the latest personal grooming gadgets too. Don't bring every grooming device you have at home, since they can certainly add to your baggage on a business trip.
H. Plan to use your easiest hair styles to minimize the need for extra gadgets. Most hotels have hair dryers and irons now, so you can leave those gadgets at home too. Ladies, try to limit the use of curling irons and facial masks during a business trip.
